Mani Bhavan, Mumbai is located at 19, Laburnum Road in the downtown region of Mumbai. This place is the witness of Mahatma Gandhi's activities in Mumbai during the period of 1917 and 1934. The lane is very calm and quiet place, which is named after the shady tress which surround this lane.
Mani Bhavan, Mumbai was actually the residence of nation's father, Gandhi. This beautiful building is two storied, which is now a reference library which shelters more than 2000 books along with a photo exhibition depicting Mahatma Gandhi's life. An old Chakra, or the spinning wheel of Gandhi in included among the well preserved memories of that time.

This Chakra has become a symbolic piece in the exhibition, but many historians and Gandhians come to see and pay homage to their beloved hero. The tourists also love to demonstrate the Chakra as a noble art of spinning yarn in the older time.
The committee of Mani Bhavan, Mumbai organize lots of programs throughout the year, in the name of Gandhi Smarak Nidhi. National Week is celebrated every year in the month of April from 6th to 13th of the month. They organize seminars, Charkha classes, exhibition during this period. Kranti Din, another program is celebrated to mark Quit India Movement.
The venue fir his function is at Kranti Maidan. Youth campus introduces the Gandhian thought to the young people. Gandhi Jayanti week is celebrated on the first week of October, to celebrate the birth anniversary of Gandhi. Bhajans and exhibition mark this event. Different competitions among schools and colleges are also organized, by them.
